insurance prices

Recommended Posts

my dog insurance is due for renewal and i have been looking about for a better deal so far i have come up with £39 a month for three dogs i have four but to add the fourth i need to call them (i think i will lose the 10% on line discount if i do this not sure) any way this works out at £13 a dog a month this covers accidents up to £6000 each, illness for life and third party. with a 10% discount for multiple dogs with Direct line.

I'm currently paying £69 a month so will be changing. i just want to know who everyone else uses how much it costs you and why you chose them

i know its a bit cheeky :D , but there could be money to be saved and in this current climate it could benefit us all to compare prices. :)

before any one say to use go compare i did and the cheapest quote i got there was £90 a month !!

and a lot of the bigger and smaller companies don't them use them direct line are not on there.

thank you in advance for your replies.

I will always insure all my dogs from now on after the experience with my last dog :(

Had my last dog insured with Tesco, but after racking up close to £10k (yes you read that correctly) of vets bills they are still arguing over paying out for certain things, and I lost the dog last August!!! So I wouldn't really recommend them :(

Have heard good things about Pet Plan, fast payments and not really limited to a certain amount per injury, although I've been quoted £45 per month for my 3. one thing I would ask is, have you insured them as 'lurchers' (higher insurance risk) or just 'large mixed breed'

Gonna have a look at direct line and healthy pet now after reading the above, cheers

I'm with healthy pets and pay £24.92 per month for 4 dogs. This is the bronze (cheapest) cover. Silver is £43.01 per month. I have claimed twice and found them very efficient and easy to deal with, paying the vet direct.

I have just had a look at my policies. I have insured 2 whippets and 2 lurchers.

Feeling unsure, I have just called and spoken to them regarding my policies. My renewal is due in June and will now increase to £35 !!!! ( bronze) £61 (Silver) They have changed their underwriters. Premiums can be affected by postcode... whether your bitches are spayed.. age of dogs... ect.... also you must put down whatever your vet has on their system. I still think that healthy-pets are very competitive in the market but will have a look around all the same.

I will be sticking to the cheapest option by the looks of it for the time being.

Good luck and let us know what you find....

Im with direct line & 3 dogs paying £42 mth. Im going to look for company offering lifetime cover though rather than £4k per condition or 12mths which is first. My old dog has thyroid prob, needs thyroxin every day & now paying for it myself.

The salukix is only two, the greyx is 3, he alone had over £3k of treatment last year, Labx bout same .

Excess is £85 per dog but that against treatment is nothing.

LAb & grey raiding shopping & ate choclate last Easter- spent two days in vets on Drips & labx was on treatment for 7mths as her liver & pancreas couldntnt break down the toxins.

May seem a lot to be paying out every month but not against the treatment when you need it.
