first terrier

This is the first time i have had a terrier, and i need some tips and advice on working her for rabbiting. she is a border x lakeland and she is 1 and a half years old. cheers.

mate if i had a clue id most definately tell you..... ive a full bred border just wundering would he be a bit big for rabbiting???

break it to ferrets , if you need it to work with them.

if not just get out among the rabbits, the dog will soon chase or use its nose and push one out of cover.

theres plenty of little ones about for a dog to cut its teeth on

are you on about the dog mate?..... well a dnt want it for catching them, because ano it'll be hard for her but i would like her to listen to me and come back.. but i meen she will get in the holly bushes and all that ya no. but she hardlys comes back..

Do you keep ferrets too? Breaking is just having the dog calm and happy to work along side the ferret and not see it as quarry. Dog should work cover as soon as it cottons on there is stuff in bushes and gets used to scent then you'll be flying. Just get your dog onto land with rabbits and let it use its head, will figure it out.

Dog should work cover as soon as it cottons on there is stuff in bushes and gets used to scent then you'll be flying. Just get your dog onto land with rabbits and let it use its head, will figure it out.

yerr i keep ferrets,, well i have 1 lol an albino hob. if u want one i am breeding it this year wif another albino if you want one?

Bit to far to transport ferrets for me, as soon as its ferreting time again get the dog out with em, bolting to nets. Got the whole summer to train the dog and get it fit and ready. Trying myself to get some ratting done this summer, farmers not been obliging yet though.
