lgray88 4 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Share Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) do you have another dedicated rabbit caliber or is it jsut purely foxes you shoot, becuase i know for sure my .22-250 is not designed for rabbits firstly damage it causes and cost if your buying the ammo, or you could reload and jsut shoot the rabbits for the fun of seeing them blow up. but if you havent got anything else too shoot rabbits i wouldnt give up on your .22 wmr jsut yet. liam Edited March 11, 2009 by lgray88 Quote Link to post

shotgun 0 Posted March 11, 2009 Author Report Share Posted March 11, 2009 to be honest i was just testing the water i like my magnum its quiet.accurate an pretty cheap to run good to bout 125 yards on charlie ,most of my shootins with a mate hes got a tikka light in 22/250 with a t8mod on it,so anything out to bout 350 yards pretty much belongs to us ,am really in two minds about this one ,wish i never phoned fpo lol , Quote Link to post
lgray88 4 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Share Posted March 11, 2009 well if you like the .22wmr then keep it and try applying for a .243 that will do all the same as the .22-250 with lighter bullets of course (trajectory etc) then use heavier bullets if you ever felt the need to go out and try abit of deer stalking, ammo prices dont vary that much between the two and if your reloading i dont think youll notice much difference at all cost wise. liam Quote Link to post
jamie g 17 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Share Posted March 12, 2009 get the 22/250 mate tikka or sako will see you well. keep the 22lr for rabbits then the 22/250 for foxing and long rage rabbits. if it was me and you need the range for rabbits out to 150 yards then i would get a hmr and sell the 22lr Quote Link to post
