your charger for the 7 would be a 500 you will need an 800 for the 17ah arthur carter online usualy next day delivery and an after sales service unrivalled in my opinion

The charger i have that came with the 7ah set up is a 800mA, just been looking a bit online and they sell 1500mA for 12-18ah batteries. Will it damage either lamp or charger if i use the 800mA or will it just take a long time to charge?

I use a car battery charger if Iam in a hurry, it charges the battery in about 3 hours on slow and 1 and half hours on quick. I also have a battery charger which I bought from a model shop for £10 which takes around a day and a half to fully charge a 20ah. Both chargers have a fully charged indicator. Although both chargers indicate when the batterys are fully charged the model charger seems to put slightly more charge in.The model charger is a plug adaptor so takes very little space and for the price there worth having lay about.

the best explanation i can give is the difference between chargers is like trying to fill a cup with water if the tap is on full yes it fills quicker but not fully as you only get 3/4 of a cup before it goes everywhere no matter how long you leave it you still only get 3/4 of a cup where with slow running tap just like trickle charger it takes longer but it fills to the brim hope this makes sense
