Recommended Posts

Hi all im thinking of getting my self a red filter to put on my lamp, i used a mate's the other night whilst out on the foxes. It seemed to hold them really well compared to a standerd lamp. What i wanted to know is how do all the different colours compre against each other, eg RED BLUE AMBER ect is there any that seem to stand out from the rest Cheers all HH

Red lamp filters are most popular for foxing and lamping rabbits.

Amber lamp filters are also good for foxing, excellent in foggy conditions.

Blue lamp filters are for highlighting contrast in in snow, rain and foggy conditions.

Green gets me right up close on the rabbits, top on a windy night, then change to bare light(best having 2 lamps, when you slip the dog, quickly change to the other lamp(bare) It startles the rabbits, gives the dog a good few seconds advantage.

It takes a bit to get used to doing, but works.
