Ferreting In The Snow

Sunday morning came, snow on the ground and freezing..just the weather for ferreting! Majoity of the holes were covered with snow so there were plenty of bursts of snow and missed rabbits but none the less a great days sport was had. The young jill is this years and absolutely flying. Doesnt peep the head up much and seems to work all the burrows deep and never seems to be too far away from the back of the rabbit. A bit small for holding fully grown rabbits so very rarely have to dig either.

Just did the one burrow and took two rabbits home. One of the netted rabbits seemed to have a belly full of young so was let run for another day.

an enjoyable few hours sport you had :D still young around at this time of year its a sign of them breeding all year round now :( hope you have a few more sessions yet ;)

Those burrows are in sand dunes so that's the end of doing them for the year :( The burrows go straight into that hill so it would take a JCB to dig a ferret out!

Looked like a good day Benny, Hows the Hob getting on? He looks fit & well in your pictures anyway

He's going well. We were doing a big burrow a few sundays ago with another couple of strange jills and he was more interested in :censored: the pair of them than working!! Never seen him move so fast :clapper:
