Guest vin
hello all I im in the process of finding myself little pocket rocket mooching bitch..not had a lurcher for a long time so i have been talking with the old lads from my area and one or two have mentioned this line of dogs a few times.. In the early nineties they all bought a dog from Tommy Mcfee up in Caithness area of scotland....they were small whippet x types usually around 20in or under and from what the lads say... they were excellent little dogs . does anyone know of or remeber these lines ? or anything similar...dont want a big bullX just want a little pocket poacher that i can take anywhere with no worries. like a bedlington whippet X whippet... or a collie/grey/whippet.. but small... no even bothered about the long ears as long as it can do the bunnies,it,ll do 4 me. I would prefer an older dog... no more pups. anyone hear of anything along these lines... a pm would be much appreciated... i might even go as far as a bottle of the good stuff. p.s ..im not a daft kid.. i have been there and done it ... im old and very synical.. so no messing about please. all the best . vinny Edited February 9, 2009 by vin Quote Link to post

Guest vin
WE have all grown old Dai... I hunted with Tommy,...he never kept a particular 'strain or a special line' of jukels,...he prefered to run the rabbits and hares of Caithness with fast footed whippet/greyhound types, and they were frequently for sale.... I liked Tommy,...he knew his ground well, and could walk the walk... Halcyon Days,.... All the best,..CHALKWARREN.... the good old days as they say chaps... so were talkin whippetXgreyhounds basically...i just wondered if there was anything special in the ingredients.. my mate had one that was about 19"tts and long as a sausage hehehe ...but it went like the clappers as they say.. must have been a one off. good memories anyway...so thanks chaps all the best vinny Quote Link to post
