Hello all, I made a point, to SNOOPDOGS, gallery of 4 hares, and I stated, they were the cleanest hares, I had seen, I joined this forum last year in search of a Lurcher pup, but after reading a lot of topics, on here, and seeing, the amount,of dogs that is for sale, I am totaly, unhappy with the crap that is written, and advertised, (((( NOT ALL IS BULLDUST, THERE IS SOME VERY GENUINE TOPICS, and posts, and I have had the pleasure to meet up with WHIN, and his dogs, and also sportsfieldhunter, two genuine men, the reply and insults I recieved from Snoopdogs topic, was unreal at my age, I have absolutely, NOTHING to prove to any one about my Past dogs, In days gone by in the sixties, not many people had telephones in the home ((unless you were in business)) No mobiles untill the late eighties, and computers, well they have come to the home in the (( say 15 years)) more like the last 10 years, so to run your good dogs against others, was sometime difficult, due to work and business commitments. but I was self employed and I used to take my dog to work with me and try to get a run somewhere handy, and also I knew a few travelling men, and there famlies, so we could have a good run and a bit of craic, and also the local dog men, and that was my circle, once I was down in Ely, Cambridgeshire, I was working with this fellow called CLIFF HILLS, A good old poacher, this was about 1966,I had a good dog with me 7/8ths 1/8 collie, his grand sire was Cotton king, it was late september, and Cliff was dying to see this Black dog run, all stubble fields around there then two runs two hits, Cliff wanted to buy the dog there and then, and I said can not sell him He offered; me £20. you could buy a dog from 10 to 25. in those days,, He invited me to his home, showed me his ferrets, nets long and purse, nets, his Norfolk Lurcher, fawn brocken coated, stood about 23" high, AND A PUNT GUN, this was a cannon, showed me his Punt, he had been doing some repairs to the punt, He invited me to go out on the Punt in the winter months, for the geese but I declined, the offer,

that is only one little incident, in my travels, to go and see WHIN, the round trip is 240 miles driving on back roads, just to see his dogs, (( two visits,)

Sportsfieldhunter, Durham and back,220miles to pick up 3/4 grey,x 1/4 beardie collie, Pup. any way that is dogs for you, but in my day, yes we could have a bit of bull dust, but nothing as today, a good sing song in the pub after the event, and of course a good craic, so carry on with your Hunting and good luck to one and all,
