DiStuRBeD 0
Hey all So what do you do, and do you do anything at all for a dog with sore feet after a night out? General redness in the toes, webbing etc etc have any of you ever used any of the greyhound suppliments to help with muscle stiffness etc etc what natural means have you used in the past which was effective? a few guys have said to use metho on the pads, to harden them up others have said run the dog on hard ground before you go out Quote Link to post
juckler123 707
Good post mate this is something everyone who works their dogs has problems with especially when running over sandy soil the sand gets under the dogs quicks and if their not cleaned properly they soon get sceptic the only answer i find is regular cleaning and regular exercise even if the dogs arent working and good nail care i found the best thing to do with the dogs feet is when you get in from exercise[.work] is first wash with warm soapy water i use a toothbrush to get under the quicks then i dip their feet in surgical spirits they hate this makes their tail stand on end if theres any cuts or grazes i swap the surgical spirits for tcp and spray with iodine as long as you ALWAYS do this i find the feet get rock hard in no time but i find all this work is no good if you let the nails and quicks grow long road work daily solves this ive tried one or two natural things that wernt bad on the feet the best being witch hazel but for me surgical spirits after a good clean is the buisness as rguards to muscle stiffness i use bone radion b embrocation cream watered down with the surgical spirit once a day after exercise but this can be expensive on a rough coated dog but as i mostly strip any long coat off my dogs if their working hard this is not a problem what do you use matey Quote Link to post
