CSCS CARDS

Recommended Posts

everyone on site has to have one of these cards, i think it came into force legally in jan 08, they actually do it in different languages :wallbash: wich i saw when i did mine, all it is, is common sense and some of the Qs are a joke, i think for the older end tradesmen they do or did a GRAND DAD card, no disrespect intended, i have been on some sites that don't even ask but most(whats left) make you do an induction(more bollox), so common sense card is all it is, at a cost to you, if self employed,,,,,,,,,,,TWATS :D

Your mistaken there fella the CSCS cards have not as you put it legally come into force...its a voluntary scheme for firms who choose to be in it and is mainly only used by the bigger sites...our main contract is for a big national construction firm refurbishing and working on exstension kits for care homes...i,ve never had a CSCS card and if i can help it never will...f****n piss take!

I,m going though doing mine now. We do allot of work for insurance companys and its hinted that they could be asking for them soon or we may not do anymore work for them.

Getting a grant off the government to pay for it all.

been in the trade for 20 years plus and the CSCS is another goverment thing as when you sit an app thats all you should need plus it should be voluntry plus the firms who want you to do it should pay u for it and have guys on sites to do it rather than wasting a day to sit and pay for it, feching bullshit thats coming from a site manager stroke jioner , if they didnt keep employin cheep labour lettting in al and sundrie we wouldnt have needed cscs cards , ive got all sorts of safety etc things and saw some others with the same, but didnt make them good organisers or good people persons cscs should be voluntry full stop and not determine if you are agood tradesman .

Cant set foot on a site in this neck of the woods without producing your cscs card. So how many of immigrant workers actually posses one. Never thought i would see the day when you had to pay for a card that is basically just a permit to work. When i worked in europe i never encountered this sort of crap, if you were no good at your job you were out on your arse. Before anyone asks yes i do have one. :protest:

got scsc card and dumper ticket and groundworker-still no work though
