whippet08 8 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Share Posted February 1, 2009 hi all ,yesterday i put up some pics of my day ferreting,decided to go again today,and down comes the snow,anyway netted up a 6 holer and poped me ferret down,me and my bitch waited,but nothing so got the locator out,and got a mark, 3ft ,dug down and broke through to the tunnel with my ferret looking up too me,off he went again, i got my arm in there but could not find the rabbit,so locator out,with a new mark a tiny bit further along so dug again and there it was,with its two rear legs closet,out he came with my ferret attached(god there viscious when it comes to rabbits)despatched the rabbit,although i think my ferret had pretty much done it for me!,i would of carried on, but the snow was beggining to get worse,so i refilled the hole and packed up,me and my mate througly enjoyed what time we did spend there,im off work on tuesday,so weather permitting ill be out again,love it! p.s i have been reading alot on here recently, of using a locator or not, hmmm.... Im fairly new when it come too ferreting,put it this way i wouldent leave home without one,I could of been there a long time,but thanks too a locator i got my rabbit and could of, if chosen too, moved on,or carried on instead of standing around wondering? And tell me this people who dont use one,if my ferret had of surfaced after he had done what he wanted , how the hell would i of found my rabbit? anyway heres some pics: when packing up, my bitch looked very pissed off,although i wouldent leave home without her either. she loves it Quote Link to post

You wouldnt have found your rabbit, but would have been 150 quidish heavier of pocket. I dont use one, but would if I could afford it mate... Quote Link to post

auld salmon 28 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Share Posted February 1, 2009 i well done lads at least you can find the ferret and bunnys when youve got the finder when i was younger and didnt have 1 ive seen me waiting for 4 or 5 hours for ferret to come out or going back the next day or 2 or 3 days after were as waiting 30mins etc then dig wouldnt leave without one Quote Link to post
