Foxy09 3
foxy would it be possible for a trial with the remaining snares you have pm me mate. Sorry JBS but i think that would be pointless, dont think any results with these snares will be taken seriously now no matter what they are, turns out if your mate makes them they must be the business!!! If anyone can put me in touch with a supplier of good quality break away snares it would be much appreciated. Foxy Quote Link to post

Foxy when using stops on fox snares i recommend that anyone using 6/ba nuts , buy normal mild steel nuts as they can be squeezed on to the cable wire , or tap them lightly as the inner threads take good grip , if the nuts are hard steel then you will get cracking occuring, if you have hard nuts put them in a tin, and into a fire which will soften them.also never use small brass nuts as they crack and crumble. Yeah it was small brass nuts that were on the ones i bought, crumbled soon as i put a little pressure on them. foxy Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Not that it makes much difference on fox snares in normal use, but dissimilar metals shouldn't be used, as it leads to galvanic corrosion over an extended period of time, which could in theory cause the deer stop to fail, if they were left in storage for an extended period of time... monty 0
Firstly Matt, i set FIVE snares and caught THREE rabbits as i stated in my post....secondly i dont know where you read these were free samples?? they were not free samples but snares i bought and paid for from the website, would it be possible for me to ask you to read a post properly before giving your now obviously highly misunderstood view. And lastly i have been "operating" snares for more than ten years and do so as part of my living which im sure you will agree must be doing so with success with the fact that im still in a job. You have a fair point about the photographs though but as i also said before i wasnt looking to slate or undermine anyones product so didnt see the need to take or add photos, but i assure you in the highly unlikely case of me using this companys product again, i will make sure i have the camera handy! Foxy Fair enough Foxy, I may have misunderstood parts of your post. I'm still very sceptical that you caught three rabbits, and all three broke-away. I stand by the other points made, especially the fact that you've come on here to tell everyone about your presumption, with little or no visual evidence, BEFORE you had spoken to the supplier. Out of order IMHO. I'm sure Trapworks will continue to thrive without your future business. Why don't you ask JBS (if he's a different person) to supply you with some of his 'lightweight' hoops for snares instead..... I think you may have a tad to much time on your hands Matt, and i do also hope that their business thrives what with the current economic climate, its just ashame there customer service skills arent really up to scratch where it comes to feedback on their products, a one reply then block strategy doesnt really sound like a company overly confident in sticking up for its product? but then again why would they need to when they have their mates to stick up for them eh matt?? ill say no more on this matter. Foxy sounds like alot of crossed wires to me boys Quote Link to post
