shauns 0
Hi there, I have an MTC Optics scope on one of my air rifles. It comes with IR, a 30mm diameter body and does the job at around £200 (I regularly use it for lamping) . You wont go too far wrong with Nikko Sterling as they have a good reputation (I have used one but don't own one). Another possibility is the Falcon Optics range. They are around the £290 mark with IR but they claim to test them on a Lapua .338 (a mighty round) which suggests that if you want to move to centre fire you can keep the scope. For what it's worth I use Schmidt & Bender and Swarovski scopes on my centre fires. They are good (IMHO) but expensive. Hope this helps but for sure there are more experienced shooters out there with other and probaly much better suggestions. Good hunting Quote Link to post

karlp86 0
the MTC range of optics are a good bet. i prefer the mamba's as you dont have to have that horribly cluttered SCB reticle plus the turrets are low profile. for less than £200 they are a top buy. atb Karl Quote Link to post

As i was allways told either Nikko Stirling or Bushnell are 2 of the best???? Atb. Quote Link to post
karlp86 0
the bushnell elite series are good, better than the mtc optics and on a par with some of the leupolds the other bushnells are not so good. as for the nighteaters will they are pretty good about the same optics wise as the mtc mamba's and viper's but if something goes wrong the mtc customer service is alot better. also the nikko stering mildots are can be a bit out and not actually be proper mildots. although alot of people have them and say they are good, so you pays your money and makes your choice. you wont be dissapointed with any of the above, they are all alot better than the cheap hawke you have at the moment. with optics you get what you pay for and if you want top end you have to pay top money for manufactures like schmit & bender, swarovski, nightforce and zeiss. Personal choice I understand of course, but if you have a decent lamp and the reticle is not as fine as a fleas hair then illuminated not required and save a few quid...just another view!! Inexpensive scope..certainly some of the Hawke, Nikko and JSR worth considering...and plenty have illuminated ret if required Edited January 30, 2009 by Deker Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I don't see spending a vast sum on a 22LR scope. You could in theory get the usual suspects like S&B, Swaro etc but you gain nothing, really. My advice would be a Falcon, MTC or JSR scope. They all seem to be OK for the money. I have JSR on my 17HMR and optically, next to my Meopta, Nightforce or S&B it's shocking. But next to another quid scope, it's great, and it's as good as stuff costing £100 more. But, the adjustments work very well for an quid scope, and tbh on a rimfire it'll do. Quote Link to post
