Guest savageboy
right first off me pup 8 weeks been here since sat 22 april. i had food of the breeder he gave me enough to last a couple of weeks mixed with the food i have brought . i brought irams complete just feed dry thats all yer need , i asked the vet and she said same. now me mate pups as being brought up on raw meat as chicken wings every day and she looks well . so i been thinking if i give skye raw chicken every morning this as got to be good and she would be getting a very good diet. i,m planning on useing chcken wings , start of with buying 3 or 4 cut all the meat off put it in sepprate bags enough for a small meal and frezze them , so i can pull a bag out every night to defrost ready for the morning, after she as got use to this in a couple of weeks i will start to give her a full chicken wings bones included fed raw , just like me mates pup . so lads would i be doing right with this diet. i no you never give dogs cooked chicken bones but raw should be ok . what do yer think. cheers savageboy here,s a picture of roxie , me mates pup greyhound whippet x greyhound bull http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e244/luvitwedo/1.jpg Quote Link to post
rob reynolds uk 3
some say theres not enough meat on the wings theres more bone, i say turky necks sound better too me if you have to go down that road of cheep meat ..turky legs are only 99p from tesco and theres loads of meat on them, but if you can find a good butcher you can get off cuts for around 35p a lb or look at this place http://www.tpms.co.uk/ you wont find cheeper Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Ideally it should be 60% raw meaty bones and 40% meat. Mine get 60% chicken wings and 40% minced meat, this varies and is usually minced beef, beef and tripe, lamb or lamb and veg. My dogs have been on this for about 5-6 years and it was the best move i made, the dogs look better and they prefer it. Send me a pm if you need a supplier who delivers Quote Link to post

king 12,029
what i do [bANNED TEXT] when i have pups is feed chicken wings from about 8 or 9 weeks i usually put the chicken wings on a clean plank and smash it a few times with a lump hammer to break the bones and every week smash it a little less till about 12 weeks and then give them whole as 1 of the boys said turkey legs are cheap and theres plenty of meat on them and chop a whole clove of garlic into there food every day it acts as disinfectant for the blood Quote Link to post

Guest savageboy
Raw meat sounds good......with the minced chicken is that like bones and all minced in? hi matey , no idea if the bones are minced in , but its a good idea to get yer own mincer me and me mate was on about it today , then we could make all our own , and they could be just enough for a meal , years ago i used to feed me lurcher,s terriers, tripe straight from the slaughter house , it was £1.50 a belly and they luved it , and me dogs was always in nice condition, but the down falls was the dogs stunck when they had wind , and in summer you had to change the water every day or twice aday, as we kept tripe in bin,s full of cold water , the best was winter when you could hang it up and just cut chunks off at feeding times . i use to keep 1 lurcher 4 terriers 1german sheperd 1 rottie and 2 ferrets for years and years . cheers savageboy Quote Link to post
