deka 7
hi all , at the moment i have 3 jills and a hob living together and a hob living on his own , i have just had the hob who is on his own vasectemised and the hob who has been living with the jills castrated. ideally i would like them to all live together as it will make cleaning , feeding and bringing the jills out of season much easier, do you think they will get on or will the two hobs fight (even tho one is now castrated) ? planning on trying them this weekend when i can keep a close eye on them ,( obviously i will seperate them if the hobs fight or try to get a bit fruity with each other! ). thanks. stubby 175
your castrated will get shagged as much as the jills, mine does, I tend to leave my two snipped hobs in the court with the jills and castrated hob, but then remove the two snipped hobs after the jills swelling reduces, otherwise the will get ragged silly, castrated hob can be left with jills of course, mine even became a surrogate "aunt" and helped with last years kits Quote Link to post
deka 7
thanks for the advice. i thought that might be the case with the hobs , feel a bit sorry for the poor fella now , first i get his nuts chopped then he's got to fend off a rampant ferret Quote Link to post
The one 8,597
Let there hormones settled down after the operation then put them all together and as stubby says they will live together but the castrated ones libel to be bummed Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
I woul;dnt put the vasectomised hob near the jills for a good month to 6 weeks, he can still get them pregnant if you put them in together to soon Quote Link to post
Ginette 0
I'm away to get my hob vasectomized. What are the odds that the op won't take? The vets up my way are pretty useless, and killed one of my jills trying to spay her. Quote Link to post
The one 8,597
Its a big gamble you never know till you use him after the 6/8 period ,them Ive here of 4 snipped hobs who have died of testicular cancer in there old age Quote Link to post
deka 7
yeah i had heard that they can still get the jills pregnant, my jills haven't come into season yet so i thought it might help if he got to unload a few times and flush the system out . thanks again for all the advice Quote Link to post
