king 12,041 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Share Posted April 19, 2006 the wife was cleaning out the ferrets this afternoon the kits are 4 weeks this friday out of 7 kits 4 have just started to open there eyes and 3 have black eyes the parents are both albinos is this unusual or common ??????? Rabbithunter 456 Posted April 19, 2006 Report Share Posted April 19, 2006 black eyed whites they are called mate..... red eyes = albino The black eyes will be a reccesive gene, meaning if both the mother & father have that gene somewhere in the line, it is quite possible for the kits to have black eyes. My 3rd ever littler was an albino cross black eyed sandy & I had a mixture of black eyes & albino's in the litter .... Quote Link to post
