how much do you think its worth?

Recommended Posts

here are a few photos of my

tikka t3 22-250 stainless/synthetic. i have been thinking about changing rifles to a 243

and thought i would ask you guys roughly how much it is worth?

from new it has only probably fired around 300 rounds and the rifle is in perfect condition.

i would be keeping the scope but the rifle could go with the t8 mod and optilock rings and bases.

accuracy wise it shoots 1/2 groups at 100 yards with federal ammo, 40,50 and 55 grain bullets.

any rough guestimations will be much appreciated . :notworthy:

i have edited to add i have tried guntrader but there are no rifles like this for sale second hand

thats a really good question , i really am perfectly happy with the 22-250 but more than anything i just fancy a change i suppose. ballistically with lighter bullets the 243 is a flatter shooting round so is still perfect for fox but i am wanting to get into reloading and the 243 has a huge range of bullets to choose from. i was in the gunshop yesterday and was told that they would give me £350 for the bare rifle or £450 with the mod .

Save your money. Buy your reloading kit keep the .22-250 !!

If you are shooting Fox why do you need any more bullet weights than offered in .22 from 40 - 80 grn ?

i agree all though you would find it hard to go higher then 60 grains out of a 22/250 in less you have a 1 in 9 twist.

most 22/250's are 1 in 14 so 55 grains is about the limit. i no the steyr ssg is a 1 in 12 so you could use a 60 grain in that.

if he is offering you tht price for the rifle he will have it uo for 500 for the rifle or 650 with the mod i bet so i would sell private. put it on guntrader i would ask 550 for it

i do agree that if i was only going to be using it for fox i would just stick with the 22-250 but later this year i will be starting to do some deer stalking.

thanks for the input jamie g
