brassneck 128
as a relative newcomer to hunting and just been given permission to shoot , ferret, trap on a piece of land near me i went for a mooch this morning . although i know there were rabbits there a few years back there doesnt seem to be any evidence now . are rabbits likely to be out and about this time of year or are they mostly underground ? is there a best time to see them , i was going to have a look later on with my lamp . also found what i thought were fox holes in some large mounds of earth ,there were 3 seperate locations with 2 entrances/exits in each . the size of the holes are approx 7-8 inchs in diameter . any ideas ? didnt want to start throwing my dogs down ther in case it was a badger set . k9delboy 138
I would say, IF IN DOUGHT, KEEP YOUR DOGS OUT. If brock is about you should be able to find nearby trees scratched with their claws. if your near a fence, run the back of your fingers along the undersde of the wire and you should feel any hair stuck to the wire. normally the run up to the hole is worn like the M1 motorway. is their any dung pits along the run. is their any paw prints around. if yes, are they fox, brock or what.
