Ferreting with Missie

Took the ferrets and dogs over to Missies dad's farm today. Firstly a big thank you to both of them for the invite!

 

Missie and her dog Griff have not done much with ferrets so today was a bit of a show and tell, all went very well. Griff was well behaved with the ferrets and learnt to mark very fast. Things did get a bit exciting for him and he was a bit vocal when things were bolting but all in all he was very good AND he caught his first rabbit!

 

We did four buries in total and ended up with 9 rabbits, all bolted.

Based on this site there are a lot more girls into hunting than i realised. im all for it, if my other half didnt have dogs and work them i dont think she would be as understanding as she is!

Thanks again Tyla, we had a great day and to say we'd not done much work with ferrets is an understatement.

 

I'm really pleased with Griff although we have plenty to work on...

 

I've just about thawed out now too, can't wait for the next trip out.
