while i was sitting in my living room i looked out the window and saw that pesky pigeon that keeps craping on my path. not wanting to miss the chance i whiped out my supersport and put it down. seeing as its christmas i thought it would be a good joke to cook it up and serve it to my family as the "turky" so i got to work skinning and gutting it while i was skinning it i found this thick yellow substance all over the bird in and uder the skin! not wanting to get bird flew or some other horrible disease i discarded the bird and have just done the turkey. i was just wondering if anyone knows what the hell this stuff is? and would it have been edible? im chuffed though first thing i have shot in a long time. Happy christmas all.

lol next to ur at tesco take a look at the corn fed chickens u will see apart from size and shape the colour is the same atleast next time you will know and look forward to it even more

most of the pigeons i shoot get all tha over them i leave it on them i knew it was fat so it wasnt that bad seeing it it adds a bit of taste 8-) well the ones without it are never as tasty as the fattys, hope you get another one mate

Its a shame i wasted it but at least i know for next time. got some decoys and there are loads here the farmer wants rid of so i will have fatty pigeons on the plate soon enough.

Shot thousands over the years

 

One guy used to just Pull out Breast and feed the rest to local wildlife

 

Have Shot them with Air Gun's and Shotgun's

 

Most enjoyment is with a Air Rifle and a Pigeon Magnet

 

Must admit never cleaned and eaten them

 

Shot them for cook's and eaten them in Meals
