Deer damage

Recommended Posts

Ive recently undertaken a deer control job ,yes a job as im being paid per head shot .Its on a market garden that ive had for a while but the deer are really giving the chap a hard time ,especially when produce is at an all time low when selling it .Im to be paid £10 a head and im to leave the head as a payment card ?.

The damage ranges from pulled carrots to holes ripped in polimesh ,the clear plastic used to germinate plants but the most shocking for me was seeing the way they strip spinach leaves nearly to the ground .Sprouts are pulled over and trodden and this all the work of roe .

The bottem pic shows the trouble hes gone to trying to keep them out but still to no avail. The mesh fence is a remainder from when he had rabbit problems but thats sorted to be replaced by a plague of deer .The fence isnt the usual 6 foot high but the electric is off the mains as i found out .

Tracked the slots to a gateway where they must be jumping in and out ,probably at night ,just to make it more awkward .
