Found a Ferret

Recommended Posts

I just let the dogs out in the garden for a pee before heading to bed and both dogs seemed really keen on the fence line, got the dogs in and got the torch out and spotted something through the fence. Quick squeak and out came this little Jill, obviously tame as she came straight to hand. Gave her some warm diluted milk and some ham and settled her down in a toy box (only box we could find with a lid!) poked some holes in the top and bobs your uncle an improvised hutch!!!

Now comes the tricky bit, what do we do next? the missus is going to the vets tomorrow to tell them, but what else can we do? (maybe talk the missus round and get a hutch!!!)

My Ferrets escaped a few times from my homemade hutch and was sick with worry for them (I was only 12ish!) Luckily everyone knew I kept Ferrets so there was always a message waiting for me at the Post office after a few days to come and pick them up, so I know what it's like to lose one.

Any ideas would be aprieciated!

Cheers

Luke.

Thats a nice little ferret that.

Erm what i would do is first go to the vets, pets shops etc and ask in anyone has reported a missing ferrert. Aslo put a note up in the local shop, chippy, post office, barbers, kebab shop, pub, But DONT put the discreption or sex of the fert on it as any tom, dick or harry will be phoning you saying its theres and it just aint (JUST PUT FOUND FERRET IN ?????????? AREA PLEASE CALL ?????????), And also start to do some very nice things for your other half to keep her sweet because if all esle fails you got your self a nice little jill. :good:

She's a pretty little thing and obviously been well looked after. Although her nose seems very pale? maybe a bit of meat and she'll be fine!

Well the missus rang the vets, want her to 'pop over' with it to see if it's chipped!!!, mile walk with baby and ferret in a toy box should be fun for her eh,

Apparently she phoned arsepca who said "Noboby's reported one missing and were full, so can't help you." then hung up! - I told her not to bother with them.

Just knocked up a Temp Hutch from an old Packing case at work so can get her out of that toy box.

If she's still with me by the weekend then she's going to earn her keep! I'm sure I've still got the Ferret finder and some nets around here somewhere!!! :clapper:

Bloody right Brimmer! just need to get the missus to believe it! which just got a whole lot harder though, the Ferret bit Lisa on the finger apparently, put a canine through her finger nail and two into the finger tip. Must of caught a blood vessel as it was squirting a couple of inch's! I think some gentle handling is required (of them both!!!)

Well I did my best in my half hour lunch break! Must admit, it's not my best work but should please the missus.

Recovered the box from the skip but couldn't find the lid, so tipped it on it's side, whacked a door on it and some mesh from the metal skip and hey presto a Hutch! it ain't fancy but it should keep her safe and comfortable for now, also made a MDF box for her bedding that I can close up to use to carry her if we've still got her this weekend!

Thank you for the advice, were putting posters up as soon as we get the printer working, so she still might not be with us too long :sorry:

Cheers
