whats the longest shot you can drop a rabbit at with a springer consistantly? say for example a "stock" supersport.

... probably about 30 yards...depends on the weather, the pellet, the mechanical efficiency of the gun and the experience and proficiency of the shooter!!

its years since i fired a springer so im going to say less for me 25 yards may be even less that i remember my old lighning had a hell of a kick and the noise every rabbit for 100 yards legged it lol

my pal takes bunnys between 50-60 on average with a bsa lightning in 177 gas rammed and custom stock.

ive seen him take further but i wouldnt recommend it unless you know your gun like him "his had it around 9year"

yep i was thinking anything upto 30yrds but 50-60! is their gas ram FAC? or 12fps? because i have been thinking about a gas ram and if they are that good!

yep thought so with springers its best to get close. you need better fieldcraft for them. still i would love to see a 50yd shot with a kill!

Gas ram is NOT "that good", or springers would be dead!!!

 

.....and the other bit....well, distance is always debateable and most have a strange view of it...ask any women...what most blokes recon is 8inches is usually 4 when the women check!!!

 

 

Shooting long distances on a range with sighters and known repeatable circumstances is "possible", but this is not field work and bunnies!!!

 

If you want/need 50-60 yards go FAC!!!

distances are hard if you go to a club alot use there zero range . then you will no what 35 yards is

ive bin shooting since i was 13 and went to a club last month i could not beleave how close there targets seemed . but are spot on

i do my yards by large strides up the farm but when i went to the club have found that alot of kills in the past have been 35 up to 55 yards .

so to be sure a friend has given me a long string with colour nots on it telling yards from 20 up to 50 ..

but ive set my zero to clubs 35 yards now can hardly hit oat lol so im thinking of going back to my old way as they say if it aint broke dont fix it lol

i dont need to do long shots. but interesting how far some people shoot. yep same i measure in strides too. The gas rams comment was interesting because i have never thought of it like that. maybe its just cheaper to use springs.

hi i have an s400 its 12 ft and at 45 yards 3 out of 5 rabbits get away. i have shot them i=with my gun on the ground and with my bipod sights are smack on as they say.

 

my hw90 spring gun kills them out right

hi i have an s400 its 12 ft and at 45 yards 3 out of 5 rabbits get away. i have shot them i=with my gun on the ground and with my bipod sights are smack on as they say.

 

my hw90 spring gun kills them out right

have any of you tested how far your rifle shoots with a flat trajectory? i mean how far you can shoot with the cross hairs on the bull, and hit the bull. i had a go today and found my rifle shoots alot further than i thought.

Got me well confused there....a 12ft lb air rifle does not have a "flat" trajectory at any time in any respect...it will hit the bull at whatever distance you zero it to as long as it is within range, still conditions and you can hold it steady!!
