don't think she hit them with her front legs lad. she could of knocked them on wire or rough ground. if there cut wash them in disinfectant like dettol mixed in warm water. if swollen go to a pet show or chemist an get some green rub and massage it on her legs for next couple of days , hope this helps.

is this the young one? if it is it might be the growth plates getting swollen from too much running?

she is bout 13mths old, thanks for the help lads

Just be careful mate, i had a lot of problems with my bitch when she pulled her shoulder at about 11 or 12 months. Both she and i thought she was ready but apparently not and it took about three months to get her sorted out. Vet said that although she seemed grown the growth plates on the end of her bones were still soft. She wasnt run hard either just four or five runs a night at easy rabbits but it still caused the damage. All dogs mature at different ages so yours might not have the same problem, either way good luck and happy hunting

If the wrists are swollen and there is no actual wound on the skin then the dog has probably sprained its wrists, in which cast it will take several weeks to come right. Why do you think that the dog has hit its wrists with its hind feet: that would be very unusual unless the dog has really bad conformation. If there are wounds to the backs of its front legs its more likely to have been caused by running on stony/rough ground. Not all dogs are prone to it but it depends on the breeding of the dog and its running style: some very fast dogs tend to suffer from this problem.
