I dont know alot about scopes and i really dont know where to start any idea's? I'm looking to spend £300.00 :)

What he said on the fox front!

Scope-wise, you're gonna want about 10 on the magnification front so a 4-12 will be fine. Mildot reticle is also very useful, not especially cluttered with aiming points.

The problem with the £300 mark is that it's basically a Bushnell 3200 at that price. They're duplex rets which don't suit the 22RF very well. So...

either go down a bit, to MTC or Falcon, or go up a bit, to Bushnell 4200 or Leupold VX-III. MTC is a 3-12x44 Mamba or 4-16x50 Mamba. Falcon would be a 7.5x50, but the optics are better and I think you will be fine at night with that mag.

Leupold don't really speak mildot but the varmint ret or Boone and Crockett will be good, they have good glass too.

Bushnell 4200 has a variety of mildot scopes, and good glass, for £450-odd. My recommendation in this instance I think.

BUT it's worth noting that on a .22RF, cheapo cheapo is OK if you can get one that holds its zero. My 10/22 has a Hawke Reflex 4-12x50 (with mildot ret) which cost all of £70 and works a charm under the lamp.

.22 is so close that with a decent lamp you can get away with pretty much anything, your standard range is 70 yards after all.

iv got a 6-42 s&b on my 22lr and its great for the range of a 22lr or a 4X12 mtc are good as well, dont go for the viper range the mamba's are the same glass without the crap on them...but to be honest i wouldnt spend much on a scope for a 22lr because you wont be shoot out to long range's.............
