308 rifle

Right then, looking at investing in a 308 to knock over deer.

 

Don't have much money so budget < £500.

 

Currently a Parker Hale 2nd hand (£175 - £350 depending) or a CZ 550 brand new "but with a couple of marks" @ £450.

 

I'm leaning to the CZ, I like my 223

 

Thoughts? Cheers muchly!

Got to be honest... for the money i can't fault my CZ.

 

Edited to say have a look on www.guntrader.co.uk to give you an idea of what else is out there for the money (you probably have already)

 

Some nice deals on there at the moment... a New Browning A Bolt (£435) , 2 Krico's (£400), a remi 700 adl (£475) and a nice Sako 75 @ £500.

CZ of the two.

Right well I'm off to have a look at this CZ, he has Howas there too.

 

Normally I'd probably get the Howa, but this time I think it will be CZ, it has iron sights and I'm gonna use them for once Had fun and more of a challenge with my bro's rifle in USA, old Lee Enfield, so for a while I'll try 'em

if the sako is about for 500 then thats a good deal. and the 308 isnt a barrel burner like say a 22/250 is or 243

so would be a good bet.

 

i would say tho a new rifle would be better still howa looks very good for the cash
