Guest buster321c
Right , whats the best thing to get you into shape ? I dont drink , or smoke ( for the last 2 years ) , recently got me a new bike and have been riding it to work and back ( about 8 miles round trip ) and im just trying to get a bit more in shape . At 18 - 25 i never really looked bad , 25 -35 put a few pounds on but did`nt really bother about it , and now its dawned on me that approaching 40 i could do with a bit of a health kick . So what do you guys do , any ideas ? or are you one of them jammy b*****ds that can eat and drink anything , do nothing and still look good ??
Back Stabbath 1
Lol. I'd say go for a run every day. Walk for 5 minutes, run for 5 mins, walk for 5 mins again to get your stamina up, then increase as you see fit (no pun intended!). Also I find veg juices really good, health wise. Eg. Tomato and carrot juice, cucumber, whatever. If you have a juicer I'd try it. Weights are good too, and sit ups and that sort of stuff. Good luck!
artic 595
Long walks, running, bleep tests (can do level 10/4) now. Eat loads of healthy greens, peppers, rice, meat once a week. Not so much beer, wine etc..... I also play badmington. Now that keeps you fit.
SNAP SHOT 194
Want to get in shape quick, then swimming is the key, nothing will get you fit quicker...........if cycling the change your route every few days to take in small hills etc, building up, also, hill walking is good......... droid 11
Gym, 3 times a week initially, do abdominals every visit and compound exercises that cover all areas. After 6 weeks go onto split routines: chest/back, arms/shoulders and legs/lower back. Go 4-6 times a week for these. Don't expect instant results from gym work. It'll take a couple of months before you see an improvement, but you will. Works for me, and I'll never see 40 again. Edited October 26, 2008 by droid
