Where to buy discounted scopes?

Hello everyone

 

I am looking to treat myself to a new scope and after reading advice from this site and speaking to people I am going to go for a Swarovski 8x56. Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on one? Lamping.co.uk seems the cheapest but it is only a mobile number on the web site (that never gets answered or returns my calls) so I'm a bit wary about using them. Their price is £508. I also need some mounts too, any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

Some of these will probably help...also remember in these tuff times, I'll bet they will beat any price you can find...ASK!!!!!

Thanks for that, I'll have to have a haggle with them as they are coming in ay a similar price of £595 and still no reply from lamping.co.uk.

as for mounts depends on what rifle your putting it on ? if its rimfire then a good pair of sportsmatch will be fine.

just make sure you get the right ones so the scope clears the barrel at the front.

I will be putting them on a Sako 243 and will be used for mostly roe and muntjac. I was thinking of optilock mounts but not really done any research into them.

I run the Tikka in .223 and .243....have Optilock mounts and although mine have not caused any problems I consider them to be f****** useless and vastly overpriced..but with a 56 objective you may have a problem finding anything else!

After phoning round and surfing the web (no one from lamping.co.uk got back to me) got a really good deal from Greenfield of Salisbury on a scope, mounts and bases. Not arrived yet but he said it should be here by the end of the week, they seem very helpful.

About 50-60 miles from me but been in there, not a bad store...at least one very tasty lady working there and they seem to reasonably know their stuff, as well as being helpful...all in all I came away with a pretty good impression, so hope it all works out!!

Yes I have ordered a Swarovski 8x56 and optilock mounts and bases. All done over the phone so didn't get chance to see the tastey girl, I might ask them to stick a photo in the box though.
