Axholme Ferreter 0
Had some time off work this week so I have had a lot of traps and snares out catching up on some rabbit control I had promised to do at several farms etc. In one paddock field I had 61 figure four wire tealer snares set. Put them out on Monday and have been checking them morning and evening and was planning to pick them up tomorrow. I had a lovely couple of hours shooting at another farm before I went to check this particular field. When I got there it had been topped!!!!!! Went to speak with the owner who had 'forgotten' to tell the guy doing the topping. Fair play they have offered to pay for the snares and markers but how much should I ask for? I know how much the materials cost but if I was to charge per hour for my labour it would be a fortune as it takes me a good while to make them. How much is a realistic price to ask? Also anyone any good ideas about how to find the parts of 61 needles in several haystacks? All the best AF Quote Link to post

Axholme Ferreter 0
Well, went this morning and recovered as many bits as I could but all the snares I found were pretty well manged. They insisted that they wanted to pay and so I said £2.50 per snare. Not sure if this is over the top or not but they paid up strait away. All the best AF Quote Link to post
Netter 0
I was snaring a field at spring time, I had spoken to the landowner about the rabbits while setting around 75 hoop snares, when I went back the next day someone had been round and sprayed the field, a lot of the snares were in tram lines, they were all flattened, and all the rest were sprayed with noxious chemicals. One of the ones in tram lines. Quote Link to post

will.f11 24
well done for getting some money for the materials etc. My old friend (hes about ) said when he was about 30ish he set about 100 snares in a few fields the next day he got back and nothing to be seen... then the farmer said that he saw someone going round before he arrived, picking up all the catch lmao. He was soo pissed off but the farmer said that he thought that he had sent someone to do it as he couldnt. And there wasnt a chance that they didnt catch as he was a very experienced guy. Im going out to learn some stuff off him snaring wise soon. cant wait Quote Link to post
