bird 10,014
there really isnt no such dog these days, the norfolk was a mongrolised smithfeild collie kur, True nick, but at the end of the day, when you get past a 1x, thats what lurchers are mongrolised running dogs, especially with more than two breeds.???. They all the same, it doesnt matter where theycome from, you get good dogs and crap dogs, its the dog not the place.??? My old bitch was said to have a norfolk collie in her, she was a great catch dog. A lad had her sister out of the same litter, and he said she was only 1/2 as good as my old bitch, as i said its the dog not where its bred.?? BIRD Quote Link to post

BIRD alright ray? thats right mate you should always try get as close to the pick of the litter as poss, cause no matter how good you are at training a dog if you dont have the ingrediance in there already you are unlikely to end up with a dog worth haveing, thats why i like to breed my own mate, that way i know the history of all dogs i use, doesnt matter who you are you can never breed a litter of all perfect pups, there are always some that are stronger and cleverer than others,if i have a litter and someone rings about them i always ask is it for work or pet?if they say pet i simply put the best pups out the way, cattle dogs are looking nice an tubby some of them are being given to mates for work to see how they come on as iv never bred them before, got one bitch to a greyhound and the other to my big merle collie grey dog,ask smashy for the percentages,he has them all worked out, speak soon mate Edited October 18, 2008 by ooty Quote Link to post
