swanseajack 228
well lg, autumn look i think or cycadelic lol but thats him Truth of the matter is it's crap... take a long good look at it, it's all WRONG.... SJ (art critic) Doesnt have to be 'all right' to be art Jack....just look at Picasso :D I like smashygadge's paintings because they are slightly abstract, and not like other mirror images. Yer I know,,, Picasso could paint though.. but chose to paint abstracts. but they are not intentionally slightly abstract and you couldn't convince me otherwise.... Sorry to rain on your parade smashy, keep trying with experience you will get better.. the one of the lurcher... if it closed it's mouth it would drown in the abstract rain.... A flash photo doesn’t always do a painting justice anyway. As to needing more experience sure we would all give up if we thought we couldn’t get any better. Keep posting the images. Look forward to the next one Eamonn

Keep painting, keep posting, you will get better.. and if I say it's crap again, take it as the light hearted comment it was meant to be.....

Hey Swansea Jack, there is a lot more to art than conforming to a 'critics' idea of what makes a piece good. If you spend an afternoon completely absorbed by painting, then that enjoyment and self fulfilment is worth a lot. Yes the style is naive, but there are many people who enjoy this style and collect it. Smashy here is a link to The Association of British Naïve Artists. Keep it up and enjoy and develop your own style. SJ, not everyone wants to be a complete Constable thanks nat i will take a look at that link just settling after bleddy vets but alls good good
swanseajack 228
I'm an incomplete Contstable, literally... Oh! and I said take a good look at it, not a close up look at it...

lurchergrrl 1,441
I like the painting for various reasons. I like the naive style, and the way he captured Stella's silliness; because that's what she is, a silly pup. It's a bit abstract and I like that twist in the portrait. But mostly I like it because Smashy did it from the heart, and it means more to me because of that. Well done Smash. I hope you signed it
