Out today

Had a call from my mate today asking whether i wanted to go out this morning. so he picked me up and we went off to our friend Lee's farm where we knew we would catch 30 + rabbits. We got there and saw that someone else was out, and that perticular person gets a bit ratty if we go where he is, so pissed off we drove on to find somewhere else. We have permission for most of Bodmin moor so we just went to a few ground sets, etc. Armed with a load of purse nets, a 35 yard longnet a 12 bore 3 shot semi-auto camo shotgun and about 5 ferrets we walked about a mile to our first small set to start off me young hob. we put some nets down (about 5-6 holes) put the hob in behind my experienced jill and stood back. after about 4 minutes we heard rumbling, and out popped a rabbit from one of the holes we missed (bugger) but luckily we had the gun on hand and took that rabbit. another few minutes went and we heard more rumbling, out popped a bunny into one of our purse nets. he was well in so i quickly dispached and re-netted the hole. we waited for another short while and after the ferrets were showing alot more we boxed them and moved on. we moved just down the field and bolted another 1 from a small hedge set. We didnt bother netting that and just shot it. my friends cocker retrieved nicely (hes quite young and still learning) we walked another while and decided not to bother as we thought that particular place had been a bit over ferreted this year by lots of people. we drove to our next place which was a bit more succesful. we bolted one to the gun, the ferret killed one but luckily I managed to reach it from down the hole and we moved on. We did a few more sets like this and just bolted to the gun. We hit one set which was teeming with rabbits but had a fair amount of cover on the other side making it hard for us to net or shoot. either way we decided to go for it and put my jill in. about 5 bolted from there and only shot about 3 as alot were just hole hopping. we reached our last ground sets and netted and dropped a couple ferts in. only to find on 2 of them the ferret had killed and on 1 we bolted 1 into the net so that was a bit annoying as wwe had a fair old hike to get there lol. we got back to the car with about 10 rabbits ready to be gutted. we left the really badly shot ones and just gutted about 4 for the table and a couple for the ferrets. It was good to get out even though the bag wasnt as high as we wanted. the weather was brilliant and the sport was good so how can I complain. lol. Im sorry but no pics as for 1 I left me phone at home and also i cant transfere them to the comp lol so thanks for reading and i will post next time im out properly

Was out last saturday with mattski.Possibly going to ferret a cpl of burrows tomorrow morning,but was working today so will see what time i surface at lol
