Coney 3
Evening One & All As the title say's I think I've spoken too soon regarding the thankfully "apparent" lack of mixy on one of our shoots, decided to a late afternoon mooch yesterday as the weather was 100%. Myself and "goldenarms" headed up North for a spot of Sunday shooting around 3.00pm, on arriving we were greeted by approx a dozen or so elderly ramblers heading down a public right of way adjacent to some permission we have. We recieved a few hello's and as many raised eyebrows as we passed on opposide sides of the path never the less we continued. We decided to split up as there seemed to be more "joepublic" in the vacinity than usual as noise was plentyful and frequent, skirting around some scrub land I spied this little gem sitting about 20 yards out in the short grass without a care in the world so it was the first one to get one rattled into it's skull..... However getting up to it I noticed the tell tale signs of the dreaded mixy!!! The second shot of the afternoon presented itself about 30mins later and around 100 yards from my first kill, again it was just sitting there and when I got zeroed on it I could see it was also looking very scabby so it got the same treatment... After about a half a mile walk along a hedgeline at the top of a field I noticed "goldenarms" scouring a dense patch of nettles looking for the evidence of a kill , after a couple of minutes he came up the field with yet another scabby fecker in his hand. After another hour and one more kill we came to the conclusion on examination of our afternoon's tally that the dreaded mixy was back.....feck!!! Regards Coney. Quote Link to post
