lgray88 4
i suggest you go for what you can afford , no need of buying shite, nothing wrong with cz at all, but there are better rifles. if you planning on going in to stalking seriously you need a tool that will last you for years , enough said. liam Quote Link to post

MO Spend as little as you can on a gun that you think will do the job...then, when YOU find out what you want from a gun from experience; weight, power, calibre, barrel length, moderation, scope etc etc etc.....you can trade the one you have and buy what suits your requirements! No point spending a fortune on a gun upfront that you may find is unsuitable and you can't get along with!! Quote Link to post
mubz2cool 4
I gess that would be a better idea, once I get experience with the rifle I can ungrade or change... now would the 6.5 call be fine for roe and red? and what weights do they do for this call?? Quote Link to post
Guest remmy
spend little on the rifle put your money into the scope, if you cant see it you ain't shooting it. remmy Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
why dont you go too your dealer and ask to try a few makes and models , youll then see what fits your build best and rifle balance and what not Quote Link to post

I'd say..but it is well well known that my view is; it's not the size of your tool that counts its what you do with it...in other words... put anything in the right place and it works....you only need a big calibre if you can't shoot straight......I'll get my coat!!! What shooting have you done up to this point??? Quote Link to post
mubz2cool 4
hi dekers, well i have been shooting for quite a while now and that mainly consists of game/rough and also wildfowling. Deer stalking i am new to but its just a natural progression that I think anyone would make from game shooting. what about yourslef? Quote Link to post

I've been around the block a couple of times but it doesn't matter how many corners you turn...something new/different always turns up, you just never stop learning! BUT..I know little about Wildfowling...just waiting for someone to offer me the chance of letting go with a cannon...(punt gun). Quote Link to post

Have a word with Andy, he's got a 3-inch cannon IIRC As for a stalking rifle, for just deer, 308. It is common, cheap and reliable. Will knock down any deer you care to mention. Quote Link to post
