jimb 30
Fair enough she is just young but ffs at that age she should at least interested in chaseing ,imo I would not waste anymore time with her and move it onto a good pet home Quote Link to post
sorel-2007 0
I'm new to lurchers myself and very green on the subject so I'm sure there are plenty of people that know better than me. My thoughts when I first got my lurcher four months ago was to bond with it and start to get it retrieving. Bonding no problem. Retrieving was another thing. I'd throw the ball and he'd just look at me as if to say, if you wanted it then why the f**k did you throw it then. Started taking him out with a labrador, natural retriever. Job sorted. The labrador has no other interest when out but chasing and retrieving, so if the lurcher wanted to join in the he had to chase and retrieve. But he won't retrieve to hand and just drops the ball about two-three feet away. Still work to be done then. But it has to be worth a go if he can get access to a lab. Quote Link to post

I AGREE GET HER OUT WITH SOMETHING THAT IS GOING TO CHASE N RETRIEVE,SHE SHOULD START TO WANT TO JOIN IN WHEN SHE SEE'S THE OTHER DOG GETTING REWARDED.... ANOTHER THING IS SHE MIGHT BE IN SOME SORT OF PAIN WHEN SHE RUNS, IF SHE IS NOT WANTING TO RUN AT ALL.... GOOD LUCK ANY WAY MATE Quote Link to post
