Had toothache a couple of years back, instead of getting it pulled i got a root canal filling which is a deep filling into the roots of the tooth. Now iv'e had a few teeth out over the years and some have been c*nts to get out and some have been easy but never had one out with a root canal filling in. A mate of mine did and said it was a nightmare and the tooth shattered, the dentist was on 20 minutes with various tools digging into his cheekbone :icon_eek::cry: Anyone else had one of these out and was it an easy one or a c*nt???

Been searching on the net and found they/dentists use a tool called an ELEVATOR :cry:which looks like a small jemmy wrench what they shove up inbetween the gum and the tooth and they loosen the tooth from the socket with a bit of leverage/breaking my neck :(

ive had root canel treatment and it wasnt a problem , i also had a tooth out that shattered which he had to drill down the centre and break it into four , not to bad , just make sure you are numb and if in doubt ask for another jab .

I had root canal last wednesday its fack all, obviously everyone is differnt....... :D but they gave me an injection that made the whole and I mean whole of one side numb even my eye was acting weird  , never had an injection like it before, now I am waiting for 3 wisdom teeth to be removed I guess it depends who your dentist is but mine is currently a 30 odd year old polish cutie who rubs against me rather nicely :D I was throbbing but not in the parts that she was dealing with ;)

It's not getting the root canal filling that i'm on about........It's the extraction of the tooth with the root canal in it..Did it break/shatter when he/dentist got the pliers around it???? SORRY..LIKE A BEAR WITH A SORE HEAD

Seriously Longslip: if you are properly jabbed up you won't feel a thing even if the tooth/root does shatter: it might just sound a bit horrendous when they scrabbling about trying to get it out. I had one out last year: as long as the dentist gives you the proper nerve block injection you won't feel a thing.
