i was close to buying one of these (Escort) but ended up going for the webley& scott after hearing some comments.

to date ive used everything from clay to heavy thru it (only 3" NOT 3 1\2" wildfowler version)

and havent had any bother either with jamming or otherwise....

for the money although more expensive than the Escort ,,,

is a great gun and would highly recomend it!!!!

Cheers for everybody's concern and yes Kenny fron Pigeonwatch.forum is a close friend of mine who got me into semi's in the frist place....This Fault was know by whoever answered the phone a Edgar Bro as there was no argueing just send it back and a replacement will follow...I had the Webley and Scott semi and was very disappointed the fore end kept slipping over the main body of the gun, recycle problems and the final straw was jammed on the 3rd cartridge EVERY time.. Webley and Scott told me to return the gun to the dealer and they would give me a full refund "which i did" Maybe its just my good luck or need to invest a bit more of my hard earnt into a more expensive semi. :wallbash:

bough an escort for my first working gun, glad i got rid of the fecking thing now! mind mine did nothing but jam and bits fly off it nothing as serious as the barrel going like that, a few lads on teh estates round here have them and strangely enough for a peace of crap everyone seems to shoot well with them although i know it was a kids first gun but anyone looking for a decent working gun steer clear of an escort a beretta benelli or the new winchester auto (what iv got) are all the best in my opinion the winchesters probably the best because its built to last but not expensive enough that you cringe at hitting a bump with it on the argo

I have bought a escort today only to realise it has a hole in the barrel. Its were that piece of metal that holds the mag is.

the hole is about a cm long. The hole looks as tho it goes right through.

Arnt bph supposed to look at this.

Ok....just bought my lad a brand new Escort Magnum, 5 days and about 40 shots later the choke disintegrated and the barrel end ballooned in a very worrying fashion.

Obviously went back and replacement collected today.

We all know this is a rare event (especially as the gun is proofed to 3" magnum) but the more I think about it the luckier I am to be alive, as most of the time he was shooting it I was stood at his side..the barrel could only have been 1 or 2 shots at the most from blowing up!

The distributors have replaced it fairly quickly (8 days) but not so much as a sorry, I think a little more humility and compensation could be in order....

.....your views appreciated!!!

the escort isent the best gun in the world but shouldnt fall apart that quick, have you been fireing steel through to tight a choke??as that could cause problems,if your not happy with the gun you can be refunded in full, you would be better of with a berreta .....or slightly cheaper a benneli

Is that hole to bleed off gas to cycle the next round or is it something that shouldn't be there at all?

Never had one of thease my self but a few of my keeper mates have and all they end up doing is spending cash on fuel taking them back to the gun shop like falty gas ram wont eject` jamming` chokes not being threaded propley and cross threading in the barrel so on wont ever buy one

Glad it wasn`t worse hope they sort it out propley.

I bought one of these new and went on the geese with it.

Within 15 shots ( 3" ) I had a jam then another then another........it was crap honest.

I took it back in the box to the dealer and paid extra to get the auto I have now.

Mind you It cost me loads as I had to take a big blow to trade it back in to him.

But I was pleased to get rid of it.........one of the worst autos I have ever came across.

I have had a 28" escort for about a year now and it has worked perfect. It only jammed once when using a 24gm cartridge and regulary had AAA's through it and gets well abused.

I have fired thousands of shots and only one jam but cleared in about 5 seconds, nothing has ever fallen off and shoots good.

For the money these semi's are pretty impressive.

as SFH we have had one of these in camo which i bought for 160 quid second hand about a year ago and my boys[ it has a left hand stock which suits them both] have shot clays, duck, geese and pigeon with it and had no problems at all with it.its a cheap gun that takes the knocks and keeps on going.having read the other posts it looks like SFH and i must have bought the only 2 good ones made...greasemonkey..

Time has passed......

............to cut a long story short, I have been contacted by several different owners who have suffered catastrohic and potentially lethal problems with this model, the 2 REPLACEMENTS I have recieved have been unsatisfactory (I'm being polite) and the shotgun is now returned and a FULL refund recieved!

I can only speak as I find about this shotgun and have done my best to give it every opportunity to prove itself!!

It has failed miserably and I can but suggest it is sub standard and should not be on sale ANYWHERE, how it got through Birmingham proof house is beyond me!!

Someone WILL die with one of these in their hands!!!
