Almost Black Deer????

went out last night and seen a real dark coloured deer almost black any ideas on what it is???

Could of been a Muntjac. Seen a few this time of year.

How big was it?

Size...............wise would help but i'd say maybe a melanistic fallow, these are the darkest form of fallow and have nearly a completely black coat in winter, hope this helps...........

it must of been a melanistic fallow then as it was larger then a roe deer so defentaly not a munty

highly likely to be a fallow mate, get some real dark coloured ones in certain areas

Handled a few 'black'un's ,....they are all the same, per lb,...once skinned out...

Got a complete herd of them at a Stately home near me........I gave them a hand on a cull a couple of years back.

may be a sikka
