Guest hyperion
just wondering if nets are much of a muchness or if any one can recomend where i can buy my nets from? my local gun shop sells purse nets of the green nylon type, are these going to be just as good as nets from any where else or should i shop around? i dont mind about the price, id rather pay more for some thing thats worth the extra but i dont want to be ripped off! also i was told once that the best way to look after nets is to fold or roll them up and secure them with a rubber band!, can any one shed any light on this for me?, every time ive seen nets in storage they are huge up on hooks! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
Guest on the hill
hold both rings pull tight then fold and fold again maybe another time then wrap the remaining draw cord and peg round the folded net, hemp needs to be hung to dry or it will rot Quote Link to post
Guest on the hill
as for where to buy them.....i recon making them is better than buying them as you may find faults (so you have to come buy again soon) but thats just me lol Edited September 18, 2008 by on the hill Quote Link to post

Guest on the hill
cheers guysas to making nets i think that might be a bit like monkeys and tools to me! lol! i though that untill i gave it a try easy mate, a bit soar on the hads after a while but easy dont realy like doin hemp ones tho as it burns more, snaps while your tieing knots and dunno if its just me on this one but i find the knots sometimes slip even when double knotted also you fit less on a needle and hemp rots lol but they dont tangle much at all and they are heavy so they sit well Edited September 18, 2008 by on the hill Quote Link to post
The one 8,589
Far better learning to make your own nets ,nothing like catching a rabbit in a net youv'e made yourself .Makes it worth all the bother Quote Link to post
