you should think yourself lucky lol. i was playing on saturday for my club and a guy broke his collarbone but it somehow went down his back. ?? that is how the paramedic explained it anyway but it was serious because he couldnt feel his legs properly. He got a air lifted away, still waiting to hear how he is.

Anyway i feel for ya because i had an operation an ma knee on monday so i dont expect to be out for a couple of weeks aswell.....i hate to say it but im thinking of going to a shooting club just to keep at it while i cant handle the rough ground.

I genuinely feel for you here, brecon.

I played tighthead, for about 16 years and consistent injuries have seen me have to stop playing rugby, altogether. I suffer from mild obstructive sleep apnea as a result of nose/facial injuries but the worst I suffered was when I experienced visual problems. I now have two detaching retinas as a result of taking blunt head trauma, concussions, etc. Doctor told me that I had to pack it in as my next tackle could see me lose my eyesight and end up with major eye surgery.

Since quitting the symptoms have eased but I don't know what I'd be able to do if I had to give up shooting. I miss playing rugby but sometimes you have to step back and evaluate.

Take it as a warning and decide what's most important to you. Sounds like you have at least 3 weeks to mull it over! ;)

Good luck with the recovery.
