How do you x a Lurcher (Collie x) ?

Hi ppl just want to hear what you use to get such good looking dogs..

 

1.What type of Collie do you use and why?

1.1.. normal Border Collie..

1.2..Red and whit Border Collie..

1.3..Merle Border Collie

 

2. Do you use a male border Collie to a Greyhound female or other way round?

2.1..Why do you x them like you do..

 

Thanks ppl im just getting info, coz i will like to mate one of my female Greys with a Border Collie..

brainy

full of stamina

good to train

good feet

will take most game

a very versitile working dog .i got mine of a man thats been doing the game 30year

and he said he wouldnt have anything else :thumbs:

Thanks i like it so far, But Greys do train very fast..

 

 

i no mate i have 2 love them to work

but when i work my colliex and my greyhound

the collie x wont come back with any injurys the greyhound will on rough ground.

also many of the greys here come off the track and dont work well with ferrets etc

mine had 2 of mine over the last year so the collie steadys them down a little :thumbs:

I think to get a Border Collie x Greyhound like the one Dotty have, i must use a Merle Border Collie to get the spots like "cammo" dog and the blue eyes..

i think that a lot of borders have the merl eyes

i dont no if that nessasarely means the pups will have :hmm:

now my dogs eyes show merl under lamp but brown in colour

i find that rather strange :thumbs:

Okay but it will be nice to have one with blue eyes coz it will still look like a grey just show you how strong the greyhouns genes are..

 

If i breed this x i will be the only person in South Africa that i know of that have some, coz Greyhounds is not even popular here, you just can not find a good Greyhound here..

Yes i have 10, what color is she? I know of the blue greys that have like a light green type color eyes.. And like Bobniak is a Blue Brindle with that light green type eyes very nice Greyhound..

well if you have 10 you must have a good game bitch to breed from

then when you have your pups keep the best back get it trained up

and breed that with the grey again then you have your 3/4grey 1/4 collie a good dog :thumbs:

Okay i will now look where i can get a good Border Collie, well i know but the owner wont let me use him, so i will go at night and take semen... :secret:

When my female is in season..

i have a whip /grey with 1/8 collie and she has 1 half blue eyes and i have a litter here of a collie /grey x beddy whip/grey pups and the dam is red merle and sire light brindle and got some lovely merl pups out of these but wont no till later what eyes will be like mlb

i wouldnt worry about the merl to begin with id just get the collie into the grey lol

your still getting the dog .just cause it has the eyes dont make it work better :victory:
