Phil Lloyd 10,739
my personal opinion is bitches are more faithful than dogs but like i say thats only my opinion I always used to believe that Nightowl,..but of late I'm not so sure... I prefer to keep a bitch,...I just think they suit my soft, quietly spoken, inoffensive temperament,.. All the best,..CHALKWARREN... Edited September 9, 2008 by CHALKWARREN Quote Link to post
Guest archiet
I'm with Chalkwarren on this, prefer bitches myself but i'm in the same boat as him that being the best lurchers i have seen working have been dogs but bitches for me too Quote Link to post
undisputed 1,664
Up until this year I've always had bitches and not just for breeding,,,I found them more reliable and keener than their male counterparts to get to grips with quarry...having said that I now have a dog pup to run on with my Merle bitch,,,,be interesting contrasting the two,,,the bitch is high energy and eager while the dog is so laid back its not true...so watch this space Quote Link to post
Guest blue_boy
Always had bitches, one to keep a pup from them if they turn out good and two i can't stand male dog characteristics...... bitches are like women if they dont make the grade its easier to get rid of them you know what i mean lads do you have problems getting rid if men aswell if they dont make the grade?? dog or bitch prefrance was the question ye mate i do i have 2 brothers and 1 sister get on great with my bros and ye great to have them around as for my sis gets on my nerves it would be a lot easier to if she done1. Its not me with the problem open your eyes i dont mind dog or bitch long as they make the grade but its easier to get rid of a bitch for me. Im not the one saying i cant stand dogs each to there own i've always thought trying to cause i argument tit Quote Link to post
collie/grey 238
Always had bitches, one to keep a pup from them if they turn out good and two i can't stand male dog characteristics...... only saying but if you had a good sire you will always get a good pup back?. and never have your dog laid up in pup or season,i work both but its still intresting to hear But what if you couldn't find a bitch that you liked to put the dog over? It's so much easier getting a pup from a bitch in my opinion. I don't dislike male dogs, i just prefer bitches. Also if you time it right, you can have pups in the summer, so your bitch will be fine for the winter. I know not all men are the same oots............maybe your an exception  Quote Link to post

hunter-girl 10
in your opinions lad are dogs harder than bitches when it comes to taking their quarry ie got more balls heart etc Yeah - defo mate. My mate has a bitch and she is about 2" bigger than my boy and she can be a right wimp sometimes where as my dog will chase till the end - ive seen him run through barbed wire, electric fencing, stright under or over a gate or hedge, into cover and even seen him run flat out under a tractor to catch. Nothing stops him! Quote Link to post
T78 4
i used to have nothing but bitches.always liked there "faithfulness". have a dog now as well as a bitch and the bitch now seems clingy.much prefer the dogs attitude. he'll come for a quick fuss and then retreat out of range whereas the bitch would climb on your knee if you let her! plus no season to worry about. only drawback is dogs wanting to sniff/mark everything!i think she'll be the last bitch i have.(just had a litter from her and strangely,EVERY pup was a dog!! ) Quote Link to post
