I was just wondering what do you lads do with lurchers that arn't any good. Now i mean ones that you have put lots of time and effort into but they just cant make the grade for your chosen quarry what ever it maybe..........

A wee bit more detail is required here...what age is the dog? what is your chosen quarry? how was it entered...etc :icon_eek:

A bit more info mate, people are too eager to throw the towel in on their dogs these days, They have to learn their trade like most things in life, some are naturals and some need the rough knocked back and fine tuning.

Come on mate, theres people eager to give you advice here. :victory: .

give the dog a few months rest and then try it again start with the basics and work your way up i had one when i was a kid that never use to give any effort i tried everything gave it a rest for a couple of month and tried her again she worked a lot better but never a world beater she was the bees knees when you where eleven though.i had a bull cross a few year ago that would catch al quarry but would only tackle fox paired up this dog was as keen as mustard only problem was it got to the point of hunting on and no matter what i tried it kept on huntin only when it had cleared a full field and the next one and the next one would it come back in the end i shot it i had tried every thing and in my eyes that was the best answer to it why rehome it for it to do the rounds would the next owner look after it the same as you did ?harsh it might be but i believe in cruel to be kind its not nice but in the end is the dogs home a nice place or even worse starved and abused best of luck with your dog mate
