Competition rules!!!!

Recommended Posts

For those of you who are entered in this competition here are the rules, once these are agreed to and you've entered, these are non negotiable under and no exceptions will be made. These rules are for your benefit and to ensure a clear and even playing field!!!!

This will be run starting with 16 dogs, running on a night, one entry per person, on the night it will be 2 dogs the 2 owners and a judge who is to be a neutral party. Alternate slips for a time period of 3 hours, you each slip your own dog and lamp your own rabbits, i suggest no slip leads so there's no confusion with accidental slips, if the dog is slipped that counts as a run, if your dog misses the rabbit its in pursuit of, but then takes up the chase of another on the way back that is not a kill, it has to be the rabbit you first slipped on. If at the end of the time period its all even, then it goes to sudden death, alternate slips till someone misses!!!! Most rabbits in the bag wins the night and goes through to the next round!!!!

Entry fee is going to be £50 Once you read the rules and agree to them you enter and pay your money, this is non refundable, be clear about this as there will be no exceptions as this is the prize money for the winner and runner up. If you fail to show for your leg of the heat then the other person automatically moves on to the next round. When you have been confirmed a place in the competition you will need to send me a message with your details and the dog you're entering and its name with a picture, these will be checked to be right on the night by the judge. Once everyone has paid and sent details to me, people will be paired off, as much as possible the first heat will be pairing people that are closest to each other, but you must be aware that you might need to travel for the later heats to meet up with people who you're up against. When you're paired up, the 2 competitors will be given each others contact details along with the judge and it will be down to yourselves to decide what land you go on, if you cant decide and no compromise can be reached, you'll have one chance of coming to land i put on (north east) if you dont agree to that you'll be disqualified, if one person turns up, they move onto the next heat.

All money will have to be in by the 1st September and the competition will start the 1st of November, 4 heats will be run, one heat a month with the final taking place in Febuary. You'll have to decide when you want to have your run off through the month, if you cant decide on a date that suits both parties, then the date will be set for you on the night there is no moon on the lunar calender. If you cant or dont turn up you'll be disqualified.

The final will take place in the North East on land heavily populated with rabbits where you can expect to be taking 60+ rabbits!! The final will be judged by myself and Woodga, and will be filmed. (Unles me or woodga are in the final) therefore an independant judge will be put in place.

As stated, if you fail to turn up on the night you'll be out the competition, if you're dog gets injured before or during the competition and cant run on, then you'll be out the competition, this will be non negotiable...ie if you're dog gets knocked up half way through its heat and cant continue the other person must beat the opponents dog with killed rabbits within the time limit to win!!! This is not a retrieving competition, purely most rabbits killed wins the night!!!!!

When you are paired off, on the night you go out, it should only be the 2 competitors and a judge, i suggest that you keep the location to yourselves so as you get no unwanted attention!!!

The judges decision is final!!!!!

I know it may seem a bit harsh in places but this is for your benefit if you enter the competition!!!

Accomodation has been offered by Chartpolski for one person and kennel space for your dog and Woodga has done the same, for the finalists if needed!!!!

One last point to remember......the final will be held on land that has livestock, so dogs will have to be steady with stock!!!!!!!

LD IF A DOG GETS INJURED DURING A HEAT BUT ALREADY HAS 30 RABBITS IN THE BAG AND HAS TO RETIRE FOR THE NIGHT AND HIS OPPONENT ONLY HAS 10 IN THE BAG IMO THE OPPONENT WILL HAVE TO KEEP LAMPING AND TRY AND BETTER THE 30 OVER THE 3 HOUR TIME PERIOD IF THEY DO YES THEY WIN THRU IF THEY DONT THE RETIRED DOG WITH THE MOST BUNNIES SHOULD STILL GO THRU, ALSO IN THE EVENT OF A DEAD HEAT AND SUDDEN DEATH IF THE DOG SLIPPED 1ST MISSES HIS OPPONENT SHOULD STILL HAVE TO KILL TO WIN.

yep that sounds about right mate!!!!!!

even if the injured dog has only cought 3-4 more, the other dog has to beat that, yes

yeah i think so, youll have the time limit to beat him on numbers, if not then the injured dog goes through......it'll leave a month for the injured dog to get itself right for the next heat.....what about if the dog is still out by the next heat, do we let the other dog through by default???

That has now been edited into the main rules mate!!!!!

To clear up another scenario this rule will be added to the above rules.......

Accidental slips......if you're running in your heat, and its your turn to slip and your dog is off on its course and your opponents dog for whatever reason gets off and joins in with the run, regardless of whether the rabbit is caught by either dog or not caught at all, this will result in a penalty of one rabbit off the person who accidentally slips.....We all know this can happen so make sure you have proper control of your dog at all times, or be ready to hand a rabbit over to your opponent!!!!!
