herniated disk?

put it this way..... my bulldog bitch herniated one of her disks and was paralysed for three months. and she still cant walk properly, and its been a year and six months since her accident.

but i did pay a small fee to have acupuncture done on her, she started walking again after that. but the vet who did that said acupuncture is cheapest route.... surgery is iffy and can often make things worse, and you may still have problems.

i say ask a doctor. my cousins husband herniated a disk while playing basket ball and he was a gimp for quite a long time.

the way those disks work is like... jelly donuts between the bones in the spine. when one breaks its incredibly painful and debilitating. they CAN heal on their own but you have to REALLY take it easy....

Physiotherapy When I done my back I was put on a rack and stretched and left there for 1 hour aday for 2 weeks then in the evening I would hang from a door frame ok for instant relief

Get in a swimming pool for a couple of hours a day

If your lucky physiothreapy should sort you out if not, like me surgery may be your only way if your not happy with what your doctor tells you dont be afraid to ask for a second opinion insist on seeing a specialist

Have a read of this. The problems I had were not as serious as yours, but nonetheless, some of the advice I got here was life changing for me.
