Spot on Snap, its just hitting them at that distance and on a lamp, even the best lamp, 350 yards is a very very long shot. 260 is my furthest on the lamp and that was a very long shot. Mr_Logic 5 Posted July 17, 2008 Report Share Posted July 17, 2008 Going back to the original question, 223 will drop a fox comfortably to 500 yards, BUT you have to be able to put the bullet into the fox. So 300 is on with the right scope and a bit of practice. 350 maybe and 400 if you really work at it. If you want to go further than that, 243 is your tool of choice as with 55gr ammo it shoots seriously flat and is less wind-affected than the 40gr a 22-250 uses to achieve the velocity. Oh, and there's that much grunt you can hit him in the arse and he's still done for... Quote Link to post
