make sure you get batteries in it, and start practising with it NOW, try finding the collars in the garden/park etc, get used to fitting the collars to your ferts, and yes, they can be done up tighter than you think,

"and yes, they can be done up tighter than you think"

also what is that black thing coming of your collar stubby is it a bell?

if you read through the 11 pages in the pinned post top of page, "alternative ferret finder" you'll see the pictures, write up etc of the loca8tor I was doing a review on, I use it alongside the mk3 as it finds above ground to 400ft, collars still need modifying a bit, myself and richie came up with the idea of placing it along the collar, inside a piece of "heat shrink" tubing,

getting used to putting the collars on at the correct tightness, while at home can only be a good thing, if a ferret wants the collar off, it will happen weather its above or below ground, and then adjustments (extra holes) can be made, another tip would be, always put the batteries in the collar, before you leave the house, they can be left half closed, so as not using any power, as dropping a battery in grass can be a pain, also I have 4 collars, each fitting a different sized ferret, one of them is a mk3 terrier collar, fits big hobs much better
