deanflute 550
I have just been to see to my ferrets and my jill is throwing up...It looks like the remains of a slug that she is trying to get out of her system. Is this anything to worry about or is it something that they do? Dean Quote Link to post
sue 1
not sure if a slug would hurt her ,it might not taste very good .but i do have a friend that lost several ferrets due to her neighbour putting slug pellets down and the ferrets died because they ate the slugs .so caution is needed Quote Link to post

ferreter 0
I read in a paper that slugs can carry heartworm. A few cases of dogs turning up at veterinary surgeries in Scotland with heartworm from eating slugs... Slugs in some parts of East Anglia are also infected so caution needs to exercised. Plus, of course, there is the obvious danger of gardeners using slug pellets to kill 'em. Quote Link to post
