IanB 0
Received this email today, thought I'd post it on the forum for anyone wanting a bit of the big screen... Anyone confident and interested let me know, I normally get a few of these simlilar emails every year, for different documentaries... Hello, I hope you can help. I’m a television director working on a Channel 4 series following the migration of wildebeest in Africa. There will be an actor/ presenter for the series who is also going to make the journey. Before he goes we are planning to film him in the UK meeting different people which will relate to his experience in Africa. We are very keen for him to meet a huntsman and learn about how to shoot game. This piece of the film will be for two reasons – one, to learn how to shoot and, two, getting to know a huntsman. I’d appreciate any contacts you may have that you think will be useful for me. Thanks for your time, Danny Horan Producer Quote Link to post

Guest WILF
IMHO.........Have nothing to do with this project, they will edit it to make whoever is daft enough to do it look like a retarded hillbilly with blood lust.........which of course I am (beat you to it Ian ) Quote Link to post
rizzini 1
If it was real and not a wind up, there would be a signature and contact details at the bottom of the email. Quote Link to post

The only way to get the message accross is to get involved and put your case ... If you don't do anything silly they will have a job making you look daft...and you can tell within seconds of meeting them wether they intend to make a pro or anti programme! You then co-operate, or walk......Not sure how this will work though...... Before he goes we are planning to film him in the UK meeting different people which will relate to his experience in Africa I'm sure there a several people on THL that would be fine, I don't stand around smiling for the camera...I tell it staight....sort of the Gordon Ramsey approach to Game Control!!! Guest JohnGalway
My advice would be for no one to go near something like that. You simply won't be told how it's going to get edited in the end or how the programme will be structured. They may tell you it's about hunting, but you could see you mug plastered over the telly with so called "experts" telling Joe & Josephine Public that in reality people like you are maniacs and a danger to little Jimmy and Jemimah Public. Shooters over here got seriously shafted by RTE, our state broadcaster, not so long ago. I posted on this site about it >>here<< I don't trust the media to be fair and honest about shooting/hunting. I don't think they give us a fair go at all. Over here anyway, it may be different the other side of the Irish sea. Quote Link to post
