Hello folks.

I don't know where i read it but i seem to remember something about ammo types for rabbits.

I believe the writer was saying do not use 17 hmr on rabbits for human consuption because fragmentation causes small pieces to dissipate througout the carcass making them unfit even when taking head shots.

If anyone has something on this subject could they PLEASE speak up.

I passed 7 rabbits on to a chap for his dogs that could otherwise have been people food.

All the best-Bryan. :hmm:

How long have you had a HMR...how long have you been giving away rabbits???

Do you have any idea how long people have been eating lead shot from Shotguns...copper and plastic are far less dangerous to humans ..even if some found it's way into your bunny after you have blown it's head off with a HMR!

Thankyou Mr Deker.

Thats very reassuring.

I mostly use Fac air rifle or pass on rabbits shot by mates with .22 rimmies.

However i decided to blast the cobwebs from the HMR last night.

I think i will now make more use of that. :D
